Turkey Bay is a 2,500-acre tract for off-highway vehicle riding and camping. It is west of The Trace about two miles south of the visitors center and adjacent to Kentucky Lake. Its camping facilities allow informal and tent trailer camping with chemical toilets and picnic tables but no drinking water or electricity. Challenge races are scheduled most months. A Hare Scramble (a race over a closed-circuit course) for off-highway motorcycles is held in March. For mountain bikes, the Bald Eagle Challenge in April, a Cross-Country Challenge in June, and an Off-Road Triathlon in September are annual events (but check current events schedules for changes).
