. Too many good authors, who take their writing seriously. These books used to be light hearted, mystery quick reads. Now Woods phones it in with little attempt to create an interesting story. Seems more interested in pushing a pompous, shamelessly slanted political agenda that adds nothing to the story and is out of place http://www.genchina.com/freebooks/the-gang-of-four
. The book is well written and it has enough surprises to keep you interested. It catches your attention from the very first page, and I had quite a problem putting it down. The characters are very likable, and I look forward to reading about them again in the next book in the series. As the second in the series this is another great mystery. Several new characters are introduced, but the author does a great job defining them quickly so that the story keeps moving, and the twists in the story will leave you wondering whose side you're on , cited: gec.org.ru

I’ve been visiting my file over the years wherein is written an (unfinished) fictitious chronicle about two people … my finger hovers over ‘delete’, it is so embarrassing so awful, but, I hesitate – you know, first draft – and I think as I read through the words, ‘cut the bloody bad bits out and you’ve got a bloody good book’, which is not how Steinbeck put it ref.: http://inspireinfosol.com/library/chee-chalker-the-mystery-suspense-short-stories-collection

. Contrary to popular belief, Hitchcock explained, suspense bears no relationship to fear. Instead, it is the state of waiting for something to happen. Crucial to the Hitchcockian thriller is the difference between suspense and surprise. To put it simply, the director said that if you have a scene where two characters are conversing in a cafe, and a bomb suddenly goes off under the table, the audience experiences surprise , e.g. http://gec.org.ru/?books/the-glass-sided-ants-nest-the-james-pibble-mysteries
